Hard Bounce: The term for an email sent to an address being returned without reaching the recipient. The email typically returns with the note "user unknown" or "host unknown" and signifies an incorrect recipient email address.

Homes Passed: In cable television, the number of homes in which cable can be easily made available because the cable service provider's network passes those homes.

Homes Using TV (HUT): The percent homes watching TV for five minutes or more during a quarter-hour period.

HTML: Hypertext Markup Language, the predominant "markup language" used to create web pages or graphics-rich emails. A Markup Language provides a way to combine text and extra information about it, such as which words in the text are bold or how accompanying photos fit next to the text.
